Authorizing a resolution authorizing the temporary increase of police officers were among the items approved at Thursday’s Board of Estimate and Contract meeting.
The resolution to temporarily increase police officers would allow Chief Kevin C. Beach to temporarily increase the police force by two patrolmen for a period of up to one year was due to some upcoming retirements and deployments to active duty by members serving in the Reserves, said Mayor Jacqueline M. Izzo.
Also unanimously approved:
Authorization for the City Clerk to advertise for bids for masonry repairs at Rome Train Station.
Authorization for the mayor to enter into an agreement with Livebarn, Inc., in care of Ray Giroux, for a subscription-based automated online broadcast service for Kennedy Arena.
Authorization for the mayor to enter into an agreement with Vitality Fitness & Wellness Organization to conduct a Summer Youth Fitness and Fun Program for children ages 4-12 at Franklyn’s Field in an amount not to exceed $1,000. The program would run from July 5 to Aug. 6.
Authorization for the mayor to enter into an inter-municipal agreement with Oneida County Youth Bureau in the amount of $2,312 to be used for Rome Police Department’s Juvenile Aid Division.
Authorization for the mayor to enter into an agreement with Elevattit, Inc., in the amount of $10,080 per year with an amount not to exceed $20,160, to provide preventative maintenance and repairs of elevators for various locations within the city.
Authorization for the City Clerk to advertise for bids for Information Technology (IT) support services.
