A Cooper High School teacher was honored by the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT), the INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati announced Tuesday.
Jillian Maher is a board member at the INTERalliance, a student-run non-profit whose mission is to inspire and assist young talent to pursue an informations technology (IT) career in Greater Cincinnati.
Maher was recognized with the 2021 Kentucky Affiliate Educator Award. She teaches computer science at the Union school where her classes include intro to programming, Advanced Placement computer science principles, project-based programming, and others.
Maher is also the CTE department team leader.
Regionally, she works as the president of the Northern Kentucky Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) chapter and is currently furthering her expertise by working on her Rank 1 certification in teaching and leading with an emphasis on dual credit computer science certification.
