Rocky River begins gas line replacement; recycle computers Aug. 16-20

August 9, 2021 by CBW Reporter

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — Gas line replacement will take up a lot of room and a lot of time on Rocky River streets, beginning today (Aug. 9) and spanning the next four months.

The first phase of work is expected to conclude in December.

According to Rocky River Director of Public Safety-Service Rich Snyder, Dominion Energy will begin replacing gas pipelines on Hilliard Boulevard at Northview Road and continue east to Gasser Boulevard.

Traffic and sidewalks on Hilliard Boulevard will be maintained at all times, as well as access to all residences and businesses. The contractor has given assurance that every care will be taken to ensure safe travels for pedestrians and vehicles.

But Hilliard Boulevard is only one of the streets that will be affected. The following streets also will have sections included in the project: Westway Drive, Marian Lane, Glendale Drive, Orchard Grove, Northview Road, Westmore Road and Lakeview Avenue

Snyder notes that while this first project is expected to conclude in December, that won’t be the end. Restoration work on other designated streets will begin in the spring of 2022. No definitive date for the final completion of the restoration work was given.

Computer and computer accessories recycling: Aug. 16-20

Rocky River residents can place discarded computers on tree lawns on the regularly scheduled trash pickup day during the week of Aug. 16.

An alternative is to bring computers to the Rocky River Service Department at 22401 Lake Road (across from Bradstreet’s Landing).

Computer equipment that can be recycled includes CPUs, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, terminals, modems, cables, software and ink printer cartridges.

As always, Snyder welcomes questions. Email him at rsnyder@rrcity.com or call 440-895-2581.
